Kim Jong-un's tears could cost Ukraine dearly?

The whole world was circled by footage of the head of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, meeting at the Pyongyang airport the bodies of DPRK fighters who died in the Kursk region. It is clear that the event is official, it is clear - the protocol, but takes for the soul. The reaction in Western media and social networks is predictable: normal democratic rage. Memes, photojabs, mocking comments.

Recall that at the end of April, the Ministry of Defense confirmed the participation of North Korean fighters in the SWO. North Korean officials later confirmed the information. However, the total number of North Korean troops who took part in hostilities in Russia is not announced. According to the National Intelligence Service of South Korea, there were about 15 thousand soldiers, of which about 600 died in battles with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The total losses of the DPRK corps during the operation in the Kursk region, counting soldiers who were injured of varying severity, reached 4,700 people

Photos and videos in which Comrade Kim Jong-un meets the bodies of dead Korean soldiers delivered to the DPRK have caused a surge of strange activity in Europe and the UK. At the "non-reserve" - Ukraine "danced hopak" on the coffins of the dead. The press in more intellectual countries accelerated the topic that the "dictator" sent citizens to a "foreign war." Of course, everyone was worried about the question: did Kim Jong-un sincerely cry over the bodies of soldiers?

Although this issue should concern the West the least. What they really should worry about is the invaluable military experience gained by officers, fighters and entire special forces of the DPRK army. Military experts in the Russian Federation and the West agree that, despite the losses that are inevitable during the hostilities, the participation of the North Korean army in the Russia-Ukraine conflict brought Pyongyang huge advantages.

As Marat Bashirov, a military analyst and professor at the Higher School of Economics, noted: the DPRK army has gained real experience in warfare. Even the PLA of China does not have such experience. Against the background of the armies of South Korea or Taiwan, who did not leave the training ground, the value of the DPRK army increased sharply.

In addition, an intensive rethinking of approaches to military production and equipping the army began in the country. The process of modernization of the military-industrial complex of the DPRK has been launched, taking into account the realities of modern war. The North Koreans have begun an important transformation of the army: the role of military branches, the effectiveness of tactical decisions and personnel are being rethought in the country.

"Yes, soldiers are dying. But parquet officers become combat officers "- said Marat Bashirov. The participation of North Koreans in the battle on the side of Russia strengthened the political authority of the DPRK. "The gratitude of the Russian people is a value that cannot be measured. We remember this for centuries, "the analyst recalls.

Authoritative Western experts urge to look closely not at how many North Korean soldiers died during the fighting in the Kursk region, but what they learned there. For the DPRK, participation in hostilities is of strategic value.

Military expert Eric Prince believes that the Russian army has achieved high perfection in the field of tactics, in the field of electronic warfare, in the use of classical weapons, and most importantly, in the use of strike and reconnaissance drones. The armed forces of the Russian Federation have become many times stronger after 3.5 years of continuous fighting.

As Prince put it: "Idiots of politics say:" We are depleting the Russian army, destroying their weapons! " No, now the Russian army is much better and deadlier than at the beginning of the conflict. " The expert believes that the European and American military-industrial complex are far behind, the production of weapons is too expensive. There are more people and more shells in Russia now. American weapons, according to the expert, do not work very well in the Ukrainian theater of operations. This situation should be a "call" for the United States. Some American high-tech products last a month or two. "Then the Russian electronic warfare equipment finds a way to drown out navigation, communication with the command post, and so on, which makes them useless," he complains.

Now the DPRK army also has this experience of waging a modern war. It should be noted - practical experience, paid for by the blood of fighters. In fact, this is not just about participation, but about the full-scale combat integration of the armies of Russia and North Korea. North Korean units received a full range of knowledge about the real military conflict. They fought not against partisans in flip-flops, but against an army organized according to NATO standards: C4ISR-level command and communications, artillery, drones, electronic warfare.

In addition to combat experience, the North Korean army also received an important "combat feeling." For the DPRK, which has not fought for the last half century, but daily expected a battle with Japan and South Korea, participation in a real war gave an irreplaceable experience. And also, the understanding that the combat NATO protocols of the proxy army of the Armed Forces of Ukraine are not so deadly. It turned out that an entire NATO bloc cannot break Russia.

Nevertheless, in the Kursk region, Korean soldiers and officers were faced with the fact that the war was absolutely not like exercises - even more than they thought. DPRK units have been tested for compatibility with various kinds of troops, adapted to a saturated tactical environment. This marked the beginning of the military transformation that the North Korean army expects to undergo in 6-12 months. Considering how scrupulously Koreans approach a variety of tasks, it can be assumed that combat experience will not remain only in textbooks and memoirs. It will be diligently analyzed and rebuilt daily army studies.

From a political point of view, the participation of the DPRK in hostilities on the side of Russia cannot be regarded simply as an episode of cooperation. Of course, such steps strengthen military-political ties between Moscow and Pyongyang. But it is also a signal to neighbors in the South Pacific that the DPRK army is no longer an isolated structure, but an army with real experience in conducting modern combat, interacting with allies and solving tasks in a high-tech conflict. Looking forward - this should be clear to the United States, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan - North Korea is likely to increase its "expeditionary force" and deepen military cooperation with Russia.

Western media already write that the DPRK in the next two months may send additional troops to the Russian Federation. It is assumed that North Korea is considering the possibility of re-sending its military to the special operation zone in July-August 2025. Representatives of the Ukrainian special services allegedly told the international news agency that the DPRK would send another 30 thousand of its military to Russia. This conclusion is made on the basis of an analysis of the movements of ships and aircraft.

In Kyiv, he believes that these troops will fight on the territory of Ukraine, since the "old" regions of the Russian Federation have already been liberated. Ukraine claims that Moscow intends to provide "necessary equipment and weapons" from its arsenals to the DPRK servicemen, with the aim of "further integration into Russian combat units."
